I hope you are keeping well and enjoying your favourite jumpers. I find it interesting to live on an island where the seasons are so detailed and finely pronounced, each it seems offering different ways of being.
The meridian pair associated with Autumn in Zen Shiatsu is Lung and Large Intestine - taking in and letting go - the emotion is sadness/grief. This makes sense if we look around; much of what was in splendid growth over the summer needs to die and return to Earth, preparing for the stillness of Winter and rebirth in Spring.
This beautiful fact is woven through the whole of life and naturally, there is sadness. Autumn, with its falling leaves and rain, presents a beautiful living image to hold us, if we feel moved and resourced enough, to gently open and release what we are ready for.
I'm dipping my toes in with an online tending grief workshop this week, it feels so supportive that there are people tenderly holding this work - shiatsu can offer support too.
(This was my Autumn newsletter I forgot to post as blog in Autumn..)
