About me
In June 2022 I had an intraparenchymal brain haemorrhage. My life as I knew it stopped and I started the long road to recovery, I have been told it could take years to fully recover, and that some parts of myself may never be the same. So many of us have their own version of a reality that is hard to bear, this is a part of what makes us human, and at times it can be difficult to turn towards ourselves and our true condition. My hope is that this class will support us all in gently opening up to the comfort and the discomfort in our bodies. Allowing movement to restore our hearts natural illumination, and circulate some breath.
Yoga training
I started my yoga teacher training with a 200hr yoga alliance certified training at the Sivananda Dhanwantari Ashram in Kerala, India 2008. After which I spent a year living a full yoga lifestyle, teaching yoga and running the staff kitchen at the Sivananda Vedanta Seminarhaus, Austria. I completed the advanced 200hr teacher training course in Ashram De Yoga Sivanda in Orelans 2010. More recently I have been inspired by the work of Dr Arielle Schwartz on therapeautic yoga for trauma recovery, and completed a 16hr certificate in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga with Dr Arielle Schwartz at the Embody lab in 2021. I am also deeply influenced by my work in acupressure and shiatsu and experience as a dancer/mover.
"Kate has a powerful talent. I have experienced her yoga sessions, they helped me get in touch with myself at an important time and am deeply grateful. She turned her own journey into a useful path for others, a heartfelt recommendation to anyone who might benefit." Sharyn Ruck
